How HereNow uses cookies and analytics.

HereNow uses essential cookies to operate the product and analytics to understand visits, referrals, and product performance.

Essential cookies

Required for login sessions, account security, fraud prevention, CSRF-safe auth flows, language preference, and service reliability. These operate automatically when the relevant features are used.

Product analytics

Google Analytics 4 helps us understand page views, shares, referral sources, product performance, and aggregate growth patterns. We do not use it for advertising on HereNow.

Coarse telemetry

For signed-in accounts, we may refresh last-seen time, hashed IP, coarse country/timezone signals, and browser language for security, operations, abuse prevention, and aggregate admin reporting.

What we store

  • Firebase session cookies for account login, account security, and session continuity.
  • HereNow preference cookies or local storage, such as language and product preferences.
  • Google Analytics 4 cookies and visitor identifiers used to measure visits, referrals, and product performance.
  • User-triggered local state, such as draft creation text, return-after-login paths, or event reaction state.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell cookie data.
  • We do not ask the browser for precise geolocation permission for normal analytics.
  • We do not use guest RSVP emails as a platform marketing list.
  • We do not expose one Host's attendee list to another Host.

Managing cookies

  • You can clear or block HereNow and Google Analytics cookies through your browser settings.
  • Blocking analytics cookies may reduce the accuracy of aggregate usage reporting, but core public pages will remain available.
  • Clearing essential HereNow cookies may sign you out or reset saved product preferences.
  • HereNow does not use advertising or cross-site marketing cookies.
